Santa Barbara, with its idyllic coastal charm and Spanish-inspired architecture, is a city known for its romance. Within this enchanting city lies the Santa Barbara Courthouse, a historic landmark that has easily become one of my favorite places to document couples stories.
Nestled between palm trees and lush gardens, the Santa Barbara Courthouse boasts a striking blend of Spanish Colonial Revival and Moorish architectural styles. Its impressive white stucco façade and colorful tiles set the stage for a picture-perfect wedding. Raven and Philip chose this stunning location to say their “I do’s” to each other.
Elopements offer couples an opportunity to focus solely on their love and enjoy the moment without distractions. The Santa Barbara Courthouse provided the ideal ambiance, allowing Philip and Raven to immerse themselves in each other’s presence while celebrating the beginning of their lifelong journey.
The Santa Barbara Courthouse, with its timeless allure and captivating charm, proved to be the perfect setting for Raven and Philips wedding. With their closest friends as witnesses, they said their vows with the stunning courthouse as their backdrop. Surrounded by the enchanting architecture and the love they share, Raven and Philip were able to celebrate their love simply and intimately with their friends and family.
I so loved capturing Raven and Philips Santa Barbara Courthouse wedding. I photographed their day on a mix of digital and various film mediums. I love using film to bring a different, almost nostalgic, feeling to the photos. There is nothing quite like the softness and timelessness of film photos. Every time I have the opportunity to photograph at the Santa Barbara courthouse, I also find another hidden gem to use as the backdrop for my couples photos. Intricate arches and stunning murals, I seem to never run out of inspiration at the Santa Barbara courthouse.
Following the ceremony, the couple chose to have a small, intimate reception at a nearby restaurant. Here, they enjoyed simplicity of sharing a meal with their closest friends, toasting to their love and the memories they created at the Santa Barbara Courthouse.
